Role Profile
NashTech is looking for a new APAC Regional Finance Director to work within the Global Finance function overseeing financial aspects of the APAC (Vietnam, Singapore and Australia) region. The role will report to NashTech’s Global Finance Director who is based in London, UK.
The successful candidate needs to be a reliable professional with a broad knowledge of accounting; financial control and compliance; employee benefits regulations; legal & tax compliance and business partnering.
Finance teams at NashTech across the globe are highly integrated, working very closely together and this role will also be a key contact point for individuals in that team as well as across the wider region.
Continuous learning and development are core finance team principals, and the successful candidate will be expected to continue to develop their team’s skills and experience within this specialism as well as assist with their personal development..
Role Responsibilities
A key contributor / owner of activities as would be expected for this role, including but not limited to the following specific areas:
- Acting as a regional legal representative of the company to sign/negotiate contracts with clients, vendors and manage legal and tax matters.
- Ensuring compliance with global policies and processes.
- Local tax, legal and accounting compliance.
- Driving the financial reporting for the region including analysing its performance vs forecast and budget on a monthly basis and taking preventative action where required.
- Be a trusted advisor to the local management team about all legal, finance and business matters.
- Line management of finance team members based in Vietnam including setting targets, annual appraisals and delivering ongoing training and improvements.
- Overseeing all financial audits, tax audits and internal controls audits.
- Reviewing project accounting, including the analysis of standard costs vs actual costs and over/ under recovery positions and transfer price compliance on an ongoing basis.
- Cashflow forecasting.
- Preparing Board and Executive Committee reports.
- Ad-hoc presentations and analysis.
- Business partner sales and pre-sales teams in the region with commercial modes, rate increases and general bid documents.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement programs to increase effectiveness of financial reporting, planning and management information to drive optimum business decision making.
Requirements
Key technical and behavioural competencies
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (both written and spoken fluency in English and Vietnamese is required).
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, taxes and best practices.
- Strong financial analysis skills, with experience in summarising detailed information into insightful management information for a variety of financial and non-financial users.
- Deep understanding of employee benefits for the Vietnam market
- Project accounting and standard costing knowledge.
- Ability to build working relationships across the organisation.
- Problem-solving skills, continuously appraising processes to identify improvements.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines at the same time.
Required experience and education.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent
- Several years in a similar role, or ready to step up into this role from a finance controller position.
- Fully qualified CPA / CA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent qualification
- Proficient Excel and basic modelling skills (Power BI experience desirable but not essential)
